fun stuff...
something new to me...been working on trailers and background music for Red Square Theatre.
getting ideas from the director and trying to translate that to the music. for every 20 ideas maybe 1 or 2 will work. more work than i thought trying to fit my musical ideas to someone else's vision.

toys...10/16/10
ok, just went for it this time. aside from a new Korg D3200 32track digital recorder, i went as they say...into the box. computer based recording. in my usual fashion wound up getting two more ways to do it. now learning and running the:
Korg D3200
Cakewalk Sonar
Digidesign Pro Tools.
yup, got it all. now i just have to learn how to make them work together.

tweaking...
tweaking some wiring and connections now. slowly learning all the new recording tools. it's going to take a while as they are all new to me and can be quite tricky.
finally!!!
just about finished. some more wiring needed but cutting test tracks now. new work area layout.
keyboards

cleaning, painting, new floor in... just started to take apart all the old gear. what a mess. cables galore!
new mic's
some nice new audio-technica drum mic's, a few vocal mics and a new old standby sm57
so close....
ok, it's been a long time since the flood. had the work done on the basement. a little more cleaning up and working on the subfloor. after that install the new floor. unwire all the old gear and plug in the new. new?! yea, working on getting some nice stuff again. still have the fostex 16 track hard drive recorder. just bought a korg D3200 32 track digital workstation and am still investigating a pro tools setup. whichever way i go, it can't be fast enough. been down so long i can't wait to get back to laying down some tracks.
step 1 new digital recorder
ok, the basement will be waterproofed soon, so my studio will be back up and running after that. had to get some new gear to replace the stuff that was lost in the flood. 1st up, a new korgd3200 32 channel digital recorder. also got the vga output converter kit so i can hook it up to my new 17" moniter. added a 2nd drum machine, an alesis sr-16. industry workhorse for percussion tracks, and will compliment my old rt234 nicely.
